Event:
WACA 3rd Test - Australia Vs India.
Thursday 17/01/08
Abient Temp: 43°C in Shade
(Chiller was positioned in direct sun)
Water inlet temp: 27°C
Water outlet temp: 5°C - 10°C
Flow: Continuous usage
(approx 6 - 8 litres per minute, 360 - 480 litres per hour)
Note:
Due to the volume of people using the Water Coolers the water flow
rate was increased to help clear the backlog of people queuing.
Analyses:
The water coolers maintained an acceptable chilled water
temperature of 5°C - 7°C
under normal conditions increasing to 8°C - 10°C under heavy demand
(working out of design conditions, increased water flow rate and full
mains pressure).
Ideally 4 Water Coolers would have
comfortably catered for the crowd of 17,000 (4,200 people per Water
Cooler).
The results far exceed the
expectations of the Water Cooler design and make them ideal for usage in
the mining and construction industries or anywhere that catering for
large volumes of people is required.
